My second submission for the NATG2013 day 3 theme: draw a pony in-costume or a suited pony.
Ninjaness has somehow become a meme among those who follow Dusky. Not that I can complain too much, since it’s a fun one to goof around with. I was a little more ambitious with this background and I can feel this style straining a bit. However, I think it still turned out all right.
My submission for the NATG2013 day 3 theme: draw a pony in-costume or a suited pony.
This idea came about because my parents accidentally called Hello Kitty “My Little Kitty”. Because Tara Strong is the voice for both characters, I decided the only appropriate response was to put Twilight in a Hello Kitty costume. So have just that.
Still working on getting the hang of my Premiers, but I’m getting there. I’m particularly proud of how smoothly the face and hairbow blending turned out.
More Dusky. Also spent a bit longer to make sure everything was drawn and cross-hatched a bit tighter. Experimented with applying my new style to a background too. I was a little worried about how the sky might look, but it seems to be okay.

Quick semi-speed drawing (only semi because it still took me 33 minutes) of Dusky for the NATG2013 day 1 theme: draw a pony staring into space, as I’ll pretty much be unavailable the rest of the day. Let me get in a bit of extra practice/tweaking with my new Tumblr style, anyway.
Well, TheHazelnutMutt has drawn Dusky enough times, I figured I should return the favour. She has this thing for scampering about the IRC channel, so the pose is entirely inspired by that. I think I may have drifted back toward my normal mare style a bit too much, but I guess that’s what makes styles styles, right?
This is my first go at using my new Prismacolor Premier markers. It kind of kicked my ass, especially at the start. I slowly got the hang of things by the end, though (as might be made apparent by the head and wing). My approach here ended up being a lot more straight-forward than with my pencils, as there’s less blending/graduation and more flat colour with a second tone applied. Markers really leave a lot less room to mess up, though, as it’s not erasable in any capacity.
Oh and for once, my scanner actually makes this look a bit better than in real life.

This was inspired by some of the improvised gestures I had to come up with to communicate while I was in my fursuit, as talking was generally a bad idea (it heated the head up a lot faster and would generally come out sounding like Kenny from South Park, anyway). I ended up doing a sort of bounce while holding my forehooves close to my chin.
Ran into a big sale on Prismacolor stuff and gave into the temptation to grab a few sets of Premier stuff. This is my go at using the coloured pencils. Drawing with them in general is a lot smoother than with my Scholars and the blending is easy and comparatively seamless. I’m in love with these things. :3
Ran into a big sale on Prismacolor stuff and gave into the temptation to grab a few sets of Premier stuff. This is the result of my taking the graphite set out for a quick spin. They respond a lot better to pressure than my Staedlers, making my HB even more versatile than it originally was.
A quick set of some of the best pictures of me in my Twisuit from BronyCon 2013. I decided to do a new mural because despite being posed, these all feel like a better, more organic representation of my costume than the original ones from just after I finished. I think in the end it was a matter of getting used to the costume so I wouldn’t look so stiff.
