Even though it might have been a bit overly ambitious, I got this idea early in the week and decided to run with it. Spent pretty much all my art time this week working it out, but I’m generally happy with it.

This is my submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 88 theme: draw a pony descending. I’ve already drawn crazy!Twi quite a few times, and it’s been a while since I drew Pinkie doing anything but being goofy, plus with straight haired Pinkie reappearing for the finale, I just figured I had to have another go at sad!Pinkie.
The hair gave me a bit of trouble, since I usually don’t draw straight haired Pinkie. Looking at the show references, this is really about the only logical way I could get it to go and it took me a few tries to get it to look right. I’m not entirely sure about the tears either, but I think I’m at least getting better at water.
I don’t think there was a time when I couldn’t say I could relate to any of the main six in some way or another (even though it happens by far the most frequently with Twi), but Party of One is the episode where I really felt close to Pinkie. Even though she was overreacting, I just wanted to pick her up and give her a great big hug. So here’s to you, Pinkie, vulnerabilities and all!
