How do I do background? Seriously, this was more or less a background and colour blending experiment for me. I’ve never done anything like this before and I basically looked up a bunch of sunset pictures and took things I liked from them. XP

Anyway, this is my first submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 42 theme: draw a pony enjoying spring. As of the date this drawing was posted, the RP (logs available at http://demagicks.com/seapony.htm) is in the spring time of year. Funny thing about that: beach climates don’t really show that. Oh and detailing ponies this small with any meaningful kind expression (especially a black pony under low light conditions…) is a major pain. >.>

Anyway, I fussed over this Prismacolor monstrousity for about 8 hours over 2 days.
