MLP: FiM – Dumb Rock

This is my second submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 4 theme: draw Rarity.

60 minute speed filly, go! Anyway, her hair is really short compared to her adult self, making things a bit easier to sketch. I think this came out surprisingly well, considering how fast I was doing it.

MLP: FiM – Shaded Rarity

This is my first submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 4 theme: draw Rarity.

I rarely (lol) draw Rarity, so I went for a warm up with my standard half view easy pose. Her hair may not be particularly fun to sketch in, but it’s quite fun to shade. Oh yea, and this was a 75 minute speed shading.

MLP: FiM – Intentions (Fiction)

This is my submission for the Writer’s Training Grounds’ week 9 theme: write about a pony getting his/her cutie mark.

Well, this was an idea inspired by the grimdark specific prompt, of all things (and my mind being my contrary mind, it… managed to come up with a non-grimdark story…). I just glanced at it, got an idea and had to write it down. Then it kind of just took off. Of course, this is still incomplete (yet another snippet, really), as I stopped when I ran out of steam. This is totally raw, as I didn’t edit it.

Writing in first person for the first time in forever and a day was interesting.

Gogo stylized lead-in:

I once promised a friend I would share her story. A story of a filly condemned for her cutie mark and the kindness at her core. I only regret that I couldn’t record this sooner.

MLP: FiM – Rainbow Dash Wants Out of Creepytown

This is my third submission to the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 3 theme: draw Dashie.

This one is quite a bit sloppier, but it was certainly faster, clocking in at about 60 minutes. I mainly wanted to try fully spread larger wings on Dashie and this was the perfect pose for that (aside from the fact that I love her expression). I swear I used to be better at wings, dunno what happened. Guess they turned out okay.

MLP: FiM – Happy Filly Rainbow Dash

This is my second submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 3 theme: draw Dashie.

This started as another speed shading and then I got carried away and spent a bit over 2 hours on it. Still faster than usual, though. 2H, HB, 2B and 4B all saw use here.

MLP: FiM – Unicorn Rainbow Dash

This is my first submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 3 theme: draw Dashie.

So plenty of people out there do alicorns of the main six, which got me wondering how they might fare with just a species swap. Since this is Dashie day, I have started with her. Since there’s a eleventy billion “Dashie loses her wings” fics out there, I think earth pony is pretty much covered. Which leaves unicorn. Seems my imagination thinks some things will never change.

This was a 90 minute speed shading (40 of which was spent trying to contrast that mane o.O). I actually ended up breaking out the 4B here (*le gasp*), too.

MLP: FiM – Manehattenite Filly Applejack

This is my third submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 2 theme: draw Applejack.

This one is a 60 minute speed shading of Manehattenite filly Applejack. I added the saddle and necklace to spice things up a bit. Her hairdo was a pain to sketch out, but incredibly fun to shade.

MLP: FiM – Applejack Lets Her Hair Down

This is my second submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 2 theme: draw Applejack.

This is an 80 minute speed shading where my initial idea was to draw an amiable Applejack with her hair down. What I somehow ended up with was a kind of creepy Rainbow Dash with monochrome hair, no wings and Applejack’s cutie mark. I think my shading job on the eye managed to end up making it look bigger and awkward too. Despite that, considering I was totally winging this from the start… well, it’s not bad.

MLP: FiM – Start of Nightmare Part 17

This if my first submission to the Artist Training Group’s week 12, day 2 theme: draw Applejack. Throughout this whole piece, she’s basically taken the lead in Twilight’s absence, so this was practically a gimme. Although I did have Dashie do a bit more interacting in this one. This is the final page of the comic. From here, it links into Twilight vs Twilight. And I’m considering redoing those pages, given my… massive skill difference now.

Anyway, blitzed this one a bit, so it’s sloppier again, but I’m still happy with how good many of the ponies turned out. Filly Twi originally wasn’t planned, but I added her once I realized the way I had to draw Star left her hairstyle barely visible and I don’t know how recognizable it really is.

MLP: FiM – Start of Nightmare Part 16

This is my second submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 1 theme: draw Twilight Sparkle. So I drew her a bunch. And her corrupt alternate universe version too. This one was a little rushed compared to the last few, so everything’s a little sloppier.
