MLP: FiM – You Did WHAT?!

This is my first submission to the Artist Training Grounds’ week 13 theme: draw a confused pony.

Decided to do a not-so-fast (since apparently I’m not so good at this pose anymore) 35 minute sketch as something easier so that I can let my arm recover from last week’s super drawathon. So have Twilight being confused about what someone did. Who did what you ask? You decide. Took 5 minutes at the end to try a different (and much faster) shading style. Given that I was doing this with a 2H, it was more of just goofing off and seeing how the lines look (like most of my sketches, this is level adjusted).

MLP: FiM – Happy Twilight Sitting Around

Well, I was going to do something quick and easy tonight since the last week (19 works over 27 pages over 7 days…) basically destroyed me. But then I saw this, which made me incredibly sad, because no matter what I tell myself, I still have a soft spot for Twi. So I decided to draw another happy Twi. But I was bored with standard standing poses after spamming 60 of them yesterday. This then become pose practice. But then that turned out well enough that I just had to shade it. Two hours later…

Anyway, I think my hair technique is improving. I’m extremely happy with the bangs in particular. I’m also really starting to get the non-hair shading, which is good, because that makes up the larger portion of any pony I’d be shading. The legs may be very slightly undersized, but I’m not really sure. Oh and the expression ended up looking almost a little smug.

MLP: FiM – Pony Spam

This is my submission for the unofficial Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 7 theme: draw all the ponies in the Comic Con poster. 😛

This is every pony from the version of the poster that the first search entry on EqD gave me. I considered doing the monsters and other stuff too, but drawing this many ponies in one go was already driving me half insane. Um, so some of these sketches are really rough or out of proportion, but some of them turned out really good. Times for each pony took anywhere from 1 (Twi) to 15 minutes (anything in a costume, the princesses). Average time was probably around 4 minutes per pony.

MLP: FiM – 7 Days You Say?

This is my third submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 6 theme: draw Pinkie Pie.

Having to do another 10 minute speed sketch due to once again running short on time. Pinkamena decided to keep my Flutterage from yesterday company by also having a caption relating to season 2.

MLP: FiM – Shaded Pinkie Pie Filly

This is my second submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 6 theme: draw Pinkie Pie.

Hadn’t drawn Pinkie Pie as a filly yet, so here she is. Her hair is really poofy, even compared to her adult form. I’m definitely having to think less and less about the curls. This turned out pretty well for only 60 minutes.

MLP: FiM – What Have I Wrought?

This is my first submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 6 theme: draw Pinkie Pie.

Anyway, I spent a little longer on this one because I was still trying to get Pinkie’s hair properly figured out. I think I’ve got it now, but this ended up running me about 2 hours. I have also imagined Pinkie as a unicorn. We’re totally doomed now.

MLP: FiM – Quick Flutterage at Spoilers

This is my third submission to the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 5 theme: draw Fluttershy.

Out of time to do a third shade again. So instead I did a 10 minute Flutterage face sketch and threw in some text for humour.

MLP: FiM – Unicorn Fluttershy

This is my second submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 5 theme: draw Fluttershy.

What if Fluttershy were a unicorn? Well, all that precise surgery type stuff she presumably does (since she does own those instruments) would probably be a lot easier. Also, I wanted and excuse to shade adult Fluttershy’s hair for the first time, hehe. This took about 90 minutes.

MLP: FiM – Fillyshy Attempt 2

This is my first submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 5 theme: draw Fluttershy.

Thought I’d take another crack at drawing Fillyshy now that I’m quite a bit more experienced with this whole crazy shading thing. I spent a bit too long being picky, so this is a 90 minute shading job.

MLP: FiM – Pegasus Rarity

This my third submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 12, day 4 theme: draw Rarity.

Oops, ran out of time to shade this one. Guess that’s what happens when I need to get some fic writing done too. Anyway, hopefully the costuming makes up for this one. Yesterday I tried unicorn Dashie, today is pegasus Rarity. She would still put on fabulous shows. Strangely enough, the goggles make her look a bit like Fluttershy for some reason.
