MLP: FiM – NATG2013 Day 09 – Dusky’s New Dress

This is my submission for the NATG2013 day 9 theme: draw a pony with swapped manes/made over.

For the design, I wanted to go a little frilly, but without pushing things too far, since “simple, but elegant” is Dusky gravitates toward. So I mostly ran a single colour and gave the edges a sort of “pleated” look to make it look airy. I also like big sashes with big bows, but I couldn’t get either to really work. The bow in particular looked just limp and dead. So I went with the next best thing: a thinner sash with excessively long ends after the knot! ;P

MLP: FiM – Flash Sentry’s Charge

No original for this one because I basically whipped it up at the con specifically for Vincent to sign. I had taken a quick run through the vendor hall to look for a print to get signed, but there apparently wasn’t any love for Flash there. So I figured if I couldn’t find a Flash Sentry print, I’d make one. This was going to be in colour, but I somehow forgot to grab an orange when I tossed my pencils into my travel case. I did have a yellow and red, but I wasn’t confident enough in my mixing skills and time constraints wouldn’t have allowed for a do-over. Oh, well.

This is my submission for the NATG2013 day 8 theme: draw a pony playing a game or winning. Dusky’s a really careful thinker, so strategy and puzzle games would appeal to her. Given Equestria’s seeming lack of complex video games, I decided to run with a crossword puzzle.
