This is my submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 83 theme: draw a chaotic pony. So have some Pinkie being… well, Pinkie.
This was one of those drawings where the sketch came way too easily, but then trying to work out the volume and texturing ended up being pretty difficult. Oh, well, I guess that’s the fun of extremely awkward poses. 😛
This is my submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 82 theme: draw a huge pony. And I have Lunar’s “big in Japan” title for the ATG blog to thank for this interpretation. In part because when I first read it, I read big as in famous or well known, as opposed to the more literal definition. And, well, something about the phrase itself just stuck. So I went with that style of poster people seem to do for their favourite anime characters (although I completely failed to find a reference once I got the idea…). So yea, this idea was a big of a temporary style shift for me too.
This is my submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 81 theme: draw a pony lounging or lying. This is a pose I’d been itching to try again and, well, I think it’s a given that Twi would totally curl up in bed with a good novel, so everything pretty much worked out. Those hind legs are really hard to work with from this angle. I had to redo that part of the sketch at least a dozen times before I got something that didn’t look like she broke her legs. 
Because it was requested. G3ish because the design is based more on the Pinkie’s “crazy face” than the old school G3 design. I actually had a lot of fun colouring and shading her head.
This is my submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 80 theme: draw a pony acting. I was in the mood for some Dashie, so I went ahead and drew her in her Commander Hurricane costume.
Went with a strange, dynamic pose that might have been overly ambitious. In any event, that back wing gave me quite a bit of trouble. I also tried to draw the part where the spine connects to the tail so that it wouldn’t look weird. Instead, I ended up with kind of grotesque.
Well, I’m a little late for Christmas on this, but oh, well. It’s my second submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 79 theme: draw a festive pony. Twi’s totally being sneaky and staying up waiting for pony!Santa. He’ll never suspect a thing.
Been pushing a little harder blending this time around, using anywhere from one to three extra layers depending on the part of the picture in question. Hopefully it pops a bit more than my previous colour works.

This is my submission for the Artist Training Grounds’ week 78 theme: show another side of a pony. I decided I’d take the theme a little literally this time and use it to practice a different angle than I’m used to. Then I realized with how many drawing I’ve done, there’s not actually that many of those left. And really, this pose was a little boring. While I did get to draw more hair (my favourite thing), I missed out on drawing her expression, particularly her eyes (which are a close second favourite).
On the other hand, it did come out of this with a better understanding of the form of the croup, dock, haunches and barrel. So yay.
Seriously, though, I think cats are pretty cute.

Been a long time since I posted a fic, but I guess that’s what happens when I have to keep things under wraps (hint: I’ve been writing for another project).
